Argos’ Emma Dunlap scores two of her team-high 17 points on this layup.

ARGOS - Longtime Class 1A high school girls basketball foes Argos and Oregon-Davis met up at Phil Weybright Gymnasium Thursday night for the 42nd time in the last 20 years.

With overall records trending in opposite directions this season, it may have seemed going in that this one was going to be an easy task for the 13th-ranked Lady Dragons.

Not so.

A gutty O-D squad made Argos work, but the Lady Dragons were able to hang on for the 46-40 win over the Lady Bobcats.

“It was a lot closer than I hoped,” said Argos head coach Scott Jennings. “We have to come ready to play every night. I don’t care what our opponent’s record is. Teams are going to come ready to play us. We had a little wake-up call. We’ve got some work to do.”
