MCPD arrest man for stolen firearms

On Monday, Nov. 16, the Marshall County Police Department obtained information regarding a suspect in a theft of firearms from a residence in Joliet, IL. The suspect was identified as Kristofer Conley, 20 from Culver. Officers made contact with Conley at a residence in Culver, where he refused to cooperate and left the area. While continuing the investigation, officers were able to recover the stolen firearms from the residence in Culver. Conley was then located in Plymouth where he was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the state is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
