WES stuffed the bus with 6,000 food items

This past week, Nov. 8-12, Walkerton Elementary School (WES) had their first annual 'Stuff the Bus' food drive. Each classroom competed against one another to see who could bring in the most food, and all of the food was then donated to the Walkerton Food Pantry.

The winning class, Mrs. Tracy Perry (5th Grade), then actually got to stuff a John Glenn School bus with all of the food.

In total, WES collected over 6,000 food items to be donated to the Walkerton Food Pantry, estimating in roughly $13,000 in food. The pantry said it was their single largest donation. The food raised will help between 400-500 individuals this Thanksgiving and Christmas season.
