This week's events

This week kicks off with a federal holiday. Today in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. government offices, state offices and some business are closed. However, most of the schools in Marshall County are in session due to missing classes because of the snow previously.
Here's what is going on this week:


At 4 p.m. the Friends of Plymouth Public Library will meet at the library.
Argos Community Schools board of trustees meet at 7 p.m. in the administration building.
Culver Community School Corporation board of trustees meet at 7 p.m.
Red Cross blood drive is going on at the LifePlex center from 3 to 7 p.m.


Marshall County board of finance meets at 8 a.m. followed by the drainage board at 8:30 and the county commissioners at 9:30 a.m.
Plymouth Redevelopment Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m.
Marshall County Genealogical Society will be having a group discussion on researching The Queen of the Huckle Marsh at 6:30 at the museum.
Potato Creek State Park will present a special program about the past, present and future of the park at 7 p.m.


Rebuilding our lives, a bi-monthly support group for those that have accepted their loss and are focused on building a new life, will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Life Enrichment center in Plymouth.
Miller's Merry Manor in Walkerton will be holding a free presentation on dealing with depression. Jeffrey Alexander with Harbor Light Hospice will be giving the presentation at 2 p.m.


Wythougan Toastmasters meet every Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at Christo's Family Dining restaurant. Guests are welcome to attend.


Chili cook-off for the 2015 Marshall County Relay for Life will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at LifePlex Fitness and Wellness. Taste tests are only $1.
Plymouth Public Library will hold family movie time at 1 p.m.
Potato Creek State Park host feeding time at 10 a.m. in the nature center and a winter tree ID workshop at 2 p.m.


Potato Creek State Park will present "Turtle Talk" at 2 p.m. in the nature center.
Michiana Gem and Mineral Society will meet at the Our Redeemer church in South Bend at 1:30 p.m.
