UPDATE: Body found on 5th Road

The identity has been established for the body that was found on 5th Road Friday morning. An autopsy was performed today positively identifying the victim as Desirae Ann Kathryn Jones, 15 years of age from Bremen. The primary cause of death was identified as blunt force trauma.

A candle light vigil is being held tonight in Bremen at the Bremen Church of God, 5040 1st Road. (corner of 331 and 1st) Beginning at 7 p.m.

Shortly after 8 a.m. Dec. 19 the body of a young, white female was found on the side of 5th Road between Hawthorn and Grape Road. (The area is frequently referred to as Little Egypt) The female has not yet been identified. A missing person report was received this afternoon from the Lake of the Woods area, according to Marshall County Sheriff Tom Chamberlin.
The body was reported to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department by an individual walking in the area. At this time the road is closed while officers gather evidence from the scene.
The investigation is continuing with Indiana State Police assisting Marshall County Sheriff's Department at the scene. The estimated age of the victim is mid-teens, according to Sheriff Tom Chamberlin.

Dec. 20, update

The Marshall County Sheriff's office released a statement today in regards to the discovery of a body in a rural area just off 5th Road Friday morning.
"An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday Dec. 22 to determine the cause of death and identity. No further information will be released until the proper identification and notifications are made."
