Some construction in city streets will cause delays

PLYMOUTH – Motorists will find it a little difficult in spots around Plymouth next week as construction will be taking place in two locations.
Monitoring wells will be placed on Stanley Drive Tuesday and Thursday wells will be placed at Michigan and Jefferson Streets.
The wells are required by the Indiana Department of Envir-onmental Management to monitor ground water purity in the area, according to Plymouth City Engineer Rick Gaul.
Crews from Keramida Environ-mental will be performing work on Stanley Drive in the east side berm area on Tuesday. The work is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. Work is scheduled to end later that day by 4 p.m. Work will resume at the site at 9 a.m. and is expected to be completed by 2 p.m.
Half of the northbound lane on portions of Stanley Drive will be closed between Pidco Drive and Jim Neu Drive on both days. Drivers are advised to be aware of driving conditions while traveling through the work area.
Thursday, work will begin at the corner of Michigan and Jefferson by crews from Alt & Witzig Engineering, Inc.
In order to minimize traffic disruptions, the work is scheduled to begin on Thursday evening at 8 p.m. Work is scheduled to be finished by the next morning, at 5 a.m.
“To minimize traffic problems working overnight is really the best solution at that intersection,” said Gaul. “Both projects should be completed in around one working day.”
The westbound (left turn) lane on East Jefferson and the northbound (straight & right turn) lane on North Michigan will be closed during this time. Drivers are advised to be aware of changes in the traffic patterns or to avoid the work area by using an alternate route if possible.
