Seniors with good grades could win car

PLYMOUTH — County Auto Center in Plymouth is giving area seniors a chance to win a free car, simply by bringing in their report card.
"For every A — it doesn't matter if they have one or 30 — they will get an entry," said Joe Martin, Jr. of County Auto. "We are trying to encourage (students) to do well in their classrooms and get As."
All entries will be placed into a drawing, and a winner will be chosen at the end of May. This is the second year that County Auto has offered the giveaway to Marshall County seniors. Last year, Duane Spencer, a senior from Argos High School, won a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo.
"We budgeted about $10,000 and picked out a nice used vehicle," said Martin. "At the beginning of the school year, we went to all the schools (in the county) and talked to the teachers, students, and guidance counselors. They are all on board."
Students have been bringing in their grades for the past two weeks, according to Martin, and can continue to do so until May 17. Parents and grandparents of the student may also bring in the student's grades.
"Hopefully, the person who wins needs the car to get to college or to their new job," said Martin.
Seniors from Plymouth High School, Triton Jr./Sr. High School, Culver Community High School, Argos High School, and Bremen High School are all eligible to enter the contest. County Auto Center is located at 2705 N. Michigan St., next to Key Bank and across from the Plymouth Municipal Airport.
