Falcons handle Lions in NSC dual
Northern State Conference front-runner John Glenn recorded 10 pins and wins in all but three weight classes in a 63-16 dual NSC win at Bremen Wednesday night.
Devon Becker, Austin Coach, James Frey, Ryan Ishmael, Derek Hiler, Adam Dodson, Troy Brassel, Mason Strycker, Cole Jacobson and Jacob Ayres all recorded pinfall wins for the Falcons, including first-period falls by Becker, Frey, Hiler, and Jacobson.
The Lions’ lone wins came at 120 by forfeit, via a Josh Fuchs decision at 145, and Caleb Coffel’s quick 36-second pinfall win at heavyweight.

Eagles win vs Indians
Culver Academies wrestlers won eight bouts, all by pinfall, and the Eagles handed visiting South Bend St. Joseph a 54-24 defeat at home Wednesday.
Varun DeVatha won in just 45 seconds at 106 pounds, while Kayla Miracle was a pinfall winner at 126, David Zajac and Anthony McHugh finished back-to-back falls at 138 and 145, respectively, Edmond Hogan won at 160, and Collin Parker, Simon Griffith and Collin Pepper all earned pinfalls in the three highest weight classes, including falls in 42 and 12 seconds by Parker and Griffith.

Chuck Miller earned the shutout in goal, and Culver Military’s varsity A squad routed visiting Penn 10-0 Wednesday.
Gavin Walker, Phil Krueser and Jules Vigy each scored twice for CMA, while Sage Parin finished with a goal and a partial assist. Matt Moody, Pete Falkner and Nick Curtin also notched goals for the Eagles in the lopsided win.

Women’s college basketball
PUC wins, McBee injured
The Purdue University Calumet women’s basketball team used a 20-5 run late in the second half to rally for a 66-56 victory over Trinity Christian on Tuesday night inside the Fitness and Recreation Center.
Culver Community product Patrice McBee tallied seven points, six boards and four blocks in 12 minutes of action before leaving the game with an injury.
Plymouth grad Alex Starr capped off a 21-3 with a trey at the 4:03 stop of the second half to put Purdue Calumet out in front, 64-49, and she finished the contest with nine points and three assists.
The Peregrines run their record to 12-6 overall and 9-3 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
