ARGOS — R. Eleanor Justus, 85, formerly of Argos, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord Dec. 16, 2012 at 4 a.m. at Pilgrim Manor – Plymouth. She had been in declining health for several months.
She was born Dec. 21, 1926 in Bloomfield to John R. and Frieda M. (Stone) Richardson.
She moved to the Argos community in 1964 coming from Wabash.
On May 20, 1946 in Linton, she married Harley A. Justus; he preceded Jan. 19, 2009.
She was a housewife/homemaker.
She was a member of Plymouth Missionary Church, Plymouth and active in Christian Women’s Club of Marshall County and Stonecroft Prayer Coffees, and numerous Bible studies; formerly active in the Walnut Ruraletts Home Economic Club, Marshall County.
She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School class of 1945.
She loved sewing, counted cross-stitch, and bragging about her grandchildren. Eleanor enjoyed her daily devotions, studying her Bible, going to church, and listening to the Gaithers.
She is survived by her daughters – Marsha Davis of Plymouth; Judith C. Justus of Argos; and Lea Ann Chamberlin and husband Tom Sr. of Plymouth; grandchildren – Ronda Davis, Craig Davis, Sara Hill and husband Jason, Rachel Chamberlin, Meredith Fick and husband Steve, and Tom Chamberlin Jr. and wife Jennifer; great-grandchildren – Adam Calhoun, Ryan Calhoun, Kari Davis, Anela Hill, Cory Hill, Addison Fick, Emma Fick, and Micah Fick; brother – Kenneth Richardson and wife Ruthie of Bloomington; sisters – Imogene Terrell of Bloomfield and Esther Cecil of Martinsville; and sister-in-law – Ruth Richardson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers – James and Eldon Richardson; and sister – Martha Richardson.
Friends may visit with the family Thursday Dec. 20, 2012 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday Dec. 21, 2012 at the Plymouth Missionary Church, 1350 E. Jefferson St., Plymouth with Rev. Pat Puglisi of the Plymouth Missionary Church officiating.
Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
