Post 27 settles for split vs Hammond in home-opening doubleheader

The Plymouth Post 27 American Legion baseball team salvaged a split with visiting Hammond Post 180 for its first win of the season in the Diamond Spyders' home-opener Tuesday.
The Spyders dropped game one 10-5 but shut out the visitors 7-0 in the second game. Warsaw pitcher Tyler LaFollete threw a two-hit, complete-game shutout in the nightcap, and John Glenn's Drew McDonald delivered at the plate in his first outing with the team, going 5-for-5 with a walk.
