Plymouth School Board amends contract with park department

Staff Writer

The Plymouth School Board voted 4-0 Tuesday evening to amend a contract with the Plymouth Park Department, along with a resolution to provide additional support for the overhaul of Centennial Park's tennis facilities.
The school corporation had pledged $250,000 roughly three years ago to the project to build new tennis courts in the park, as the Plymouth Community School Corporation uses the park's tennis facility and other sports-related facilities in the park. The school corporation will use an additional $250,000 from its Rainy Day fund toward the tennis court project. The current lease amount is $24,000 and will increase by $1,000 every three years. Repayment of the $250,000 sum will be in the amount of $10,000 per year for the next 25 years.
