Original report

Officers were searching for a subject wanted for questioning in a domestic battery case around 6:30 p.m. Monday evening. Officers were informed that the subject may have been armed with a gun. A trooper from the Indiana State Police Bremen Post spotted the subject as he pulled into the K-Mart parking lot off of Oak Road in Plymouth.
After stopping the white van, with the subject inside, the trooper waited briefly for a Plymouth Police Officer to assist. Both officers approached the vehicle asking the driver to step out of the vehicle. Allegedly the man refused and immediately drew a gun raising it at the officers. Both officers opened fire hitting the subject multiple times.
No officers were injured in the shooting. The suspect did sustain serious injury as a result of the police gunfire. No names have been released at this time. More information in today's Pilot News and online as the information is released.
