NWS issues winter storm watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Marshall County in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday evening.

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a winter storm watch which is in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday evening.
Snow is expected across the area Saturday night. The snow will transition into lake effect snow Sunday. Snowfall across the area during this time frame is expected to be 3-7 inches with highest amounts across Berrien and Cass Counties in Michigan and La Porte and St. Joseph Counties in Indiana.
Northwest winds will increase late Saturday night and remain strong Sunday, causing areas of blowing and drifting snow.
Impacts include
• Snow and ice-covered roads;
• Reduced visibility due to blowing snow;
• Power outages are possible due to the combination of heavy snow and strong winds.
A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet, or ice accumulations that may affect travel.
