With the historic flooding of the Yellow River predicted by meteorologists, Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter is seeking volunteers from the public to help fill sandbags.
The mayor made the announcement at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.
There are two locations, behind Hoffman Brothers Auto Parts, 211 E. Garro St., and the City of Plymouth Street Dept. garage, 2124 Western Ave.
The mayor is asking that residents bring their own shovels.
The National Weather Service is predicting the river will crest at 18 feet at about 7 p.m. Thursday — nearly a foot higher than the record-level crest of 17.1 feet set in 1954.
