WALKERTON — Lorraine C. Mercer, 86, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton. 
Lorraine Mercer was born May 10, 1924 in Mexico, Mo. to John and Hazel (Lutton) Smith and lived in the area for 49 years, coming from St. Louis, Mo. 
May 30, 1940 in Charleston, Mo. she was married to James A. Mercer who preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Greg Mercer. 
Survivors include: one daughter, Deborah (Jerry) Lowery of Port Orchard, Wash.; two sons, James (Pat Best) Mercer of Stillwell, Ind. and Robert (Judy) Mercer of Walkerton; seven grandchildren: Dennis and Darin Mercer, Bruce and Brian Mercer, Julie Porter, Mike Lowery and Kameron Struble; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, John Kratzchmar of Calif.; and one sister, Carolyn Mallardi of Plymouth.
Lorraine Mercer was a homemaker and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge.  The family would like to give a special thank-you to the staff at Miller’s Merry Manor for the special care given. 
Funeral services will be Thursday at 4 p.m. (Eastern Time) at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel with Pastor Charlene Allen officiating. 
Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. ET in the funeral home. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Walkerton Miller’s Merry Manor activity department or to the donor’s choice.
