A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Marshall County (as well as Allen, De Kalb, Fulton, Kosciusko, Noble, Pulaski, Starke, and Whitley Counties).
Hazardous weather may include snow, sleet, and freezing rain between 3 a.m. Eastern time on Saturday (Jan. 3) and 10 a.m.

A period of snow is expected to be followed by sleet and freezing rain during the overnight hours, with a transition to freezing rain into Saturday morning. Temperatures are expected to climb above freezing by late Saturday morning, which will change to rain only.

Up to a tenth of an inch of accumulated ice is possible, which may make roads and other surfaces slippery and travel difficult. In such circumstances, people are encouraged to use extreme caution or refrain from driving.
