Former 'The Voice' contestant at Maple Syrup Festival

WAKARUSA — Casey Weston, a former contestant on NBC's popular singing competition "The Voice," will headline at this year's annual Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival.

The free concert is 4 p.m. Saturday.

In addition to performing, Weston will also be a judge in "Wakarusa's Got Talent," a singing contest open to all communities. The competition is also Saturday, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

And Weston had some tips for potential entertainers.

"It's okay to be nervous, it's okay to feel the nerves, but don't let them control you," she said. "I sang in front of millions and millions of people ... but I tried not to let it impact me."

She will perform many tracks from her new album as well as former songs and cover songs at the festival.
