BOURBON — Florence C. Kreiter, 77, of Bourbon, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 5:17 p.m. in Bremen Health Care Center. She fought a courageous 3 ½-year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born Feb. 9, 1935 at Rolla, Ark. to Clarence Futch Sr. and Rachel Brown Futch. 
She had worked at Biomet for 19 years and the Bourbon Public Library for more than 12 years. She enjoyed reading Christian fiction books and the Bible. She also loved cooking, baking and gardening.
Florence was a devoted EMT for more than 18 years serving the Tippecanoe and Bourbon area. She was one of the first volunteer EMTs certified in Indiana. She was a member of the United Church of God in Elkhart.
April 7, 1953 at Donaldson, Ark. she joined in marriage to Thomas C. Kreiter who died Aug. 8, 1987. Florence is survived by three children; Thomas R. and wife Donna L. Kreiter of Tippecanoe, John C. Kreiter of Bradenton, Fla., and Linda J. and husband James B. Whybrew of Bourbon. Florence loved her five grandchildren; Josh Kreiter, Tommi J. and husband Marcin Stanko, Jamie L. and husband Matt Poore, Nathan C. Kreiter, Ciera L. Whybrew and three great-grandchildren; Brianna Kreiter, Ryan Kreiter and Baby Stanko. She was also blessed with a brother-in-law Larry A. Rush of Tippecanoe and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters; Francis Manning, Katheryn Buck, Rebecca Rush, Joy Crumpler, Faith Futch and a brother Clarence Futch, Jr.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home with Pastor Shawn Cortelyou officiating.
Burial will follow in the Tippecanoe Cemetery at Tippecanoe.
