Fast start cues Glenn win romp over Rochester

John Glenn's boys basketball team got off to a fast start with a 22-8 first quarter against Rochester en route to a 62-43 victory over the Zebras in the first round of play at the Class 3A South Bend St. Joseph Sectional Tuesday.
After the quick start, the Falcons let off the gas in the second frame, going more than six minutes without scoring a point while turning the ball over eight times.
Glenn was led by Alec Runyan's 19 points. Jake Strong chipped in 11 for Glenn, which moved to 16-7 and will play undefeated No. 1-ranked Mishawaka Marian in a 7:30 p.m. semifinal matchup at St. Joe Friday night.
Rochester was led by Brett Abbott's 10 points and Noah Dahlquist's nine. The Zebras close at 5-17.
