On Thursday, December 18 6th grade students and staff from Riverside Intermediate as well as St. Michaels participated in the closing ceremonies of DARE. Students heard a message from Judge Dean Colvin about how the decisions they make matter. He encouraged the students to make wise choices, set goals, and stay out of his court room. At the conclusion of DARE, all students are expected to write an essay on what they have learned from the program. The top essays were recognized and seven students were chosen to read aloud their essay during the ceremony. The top two essay winners will attend the county banquet.
