WALKERTON — John Glenn stayed in the hunt for a Northern State Conference title, while LaVille’s Trenton Stout continued his spectacular season as the Falcons beat the Lancers 4-1 at home Tuesday.
Glenn players won on all courts but at 1 singles, where Stout trumped Trey Rhodes in a competitive three-set victory.
The Falcons move to 2-1 in the NSC and are still in control of their conference destiny as they head into a match against 3-0 Bremen Thursday.
“Bremen beat us last year at sectional, so I knew they’d come back this year and be really tough. Hopefully, the guys will be really focused and rested, and we can have a really good match that night,” said Glenn head tennis coach Tammie Pudlo. “We’re just waiting to see what happens.”
“It’s one of those years, you know?” she added. “A lot of these kids have played varsity for four years, so this is their year.”
