PLYMOUTH — Argos only registered six shots on goal, but that was more than enough.
The Dragons scored at a 50 percent clip, finding the back of the net three times and played determined defense during a key stanza at the end of the first half, shutting out Plymouth for a 3-0 victory in a reprisal for a pair of 2009 losses against the Sectional 19 rival Rockies Wednesday at Kindt Field.
“Plymouth’s struggled at times this year, but I knew this was going to be a tough game, and it always will be,” said Argos head coach Todd VanDerWeele. “I don’t think it really matters what’s going on, the Argos-Plymouth rivalry is always going to be a heated battle and tonight was no exception. We were just lucky that tonight we were on the winning side. We were on the other side of that twice last year.”
