ARGOS — Steffany Parrish led Argos in her third game back, and the Argos girls soccer team ran its record to 8-4 on the year with a 6-0 rout of Westville.
Parrish, playing her third game back from an injury, scored twice and had an assist, while Carly McCay opened the scoring in the fourth minute, Jami Patterson notched her 16th tally of the year, and Sammie Hopkins scored her eighth goal. Keri Bair finished out the scoring for the Dragons.
“We’ve had so much injury and sickness this season, that we’ve struggled with getting a rhythm,” said Argos Coach Jon Alcorn. “The upside is that we really haven’t peaked as a team. Tonight we wanted to give some JV kids some time playing along with varsity kids, and we saw some good things from them. We’ll have a big test Monday, and then we’ll finish up with a pair of tough conference games. Hopefully, we’ll get in stride in time for sectionals.”
The Dragons host highly-ranked Marian on Monday, followed by a Friday, September 23, date with conference rival Westview. The game with Westview is a change from the original schedule and will be a varsity-only contest at 7 pm.
