WALKERTON — The John Glenn Theatre Company will close out the 2010-11 school year with the uplifting musical, "Godspell." Performances will be Friday and Saturday, March 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 13 at 2 p.m. Reserved seating is now available by contacting John Glenn High School. All tickets are $7. Any unreserved seats will be sold before each performance.
With a story conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak and words and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, "Godspell," based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew, has energized audiences around the globe with its inspiring stories and exciting music as a small group of individuals come together as a community while learning from the parables and life story of Jesus. With the recognizable “Day by Day” as the cornerstone, songs also include “Beautiful City,” “O Bless the Lord, My Soul,” “We Beseech Thee,” and “All Good Gifts.”
Starring in this production are Adam Kickbush, Garrett Blad, Chloe Jacobson, Rafael Castro, Amanda Schmeltz, Josh Christie, Raquel Hamilton, Mitchell Prentkowski, Elly Alexander, Celena Sherwood, Austin Whitaker, Austin Bloss, Sage Bladow, Blake Harris, Emily Thomas, Sarah Knowlton, Cole Jacobson, Erica Morris, Kaysi O’Brien, Betta McGaughey, Todd Zehner and Joe Verkler. Student instrumentalists include J.J. Silvey, Maryellen Schmalzried, Kirsten Brown, Autumn Whiteman, and MacKenzi Lowry, with adult support by Dan Fortlander, Dan Drotar, and Mitzi Knepper. The music is conducted by Liz Drotar. Choreography is by Jennifer Medich and vocal and technical support is by Adam Pearish. Theatrical assistance is provided by Connie Fansler, while the production is produced and directed by Richard Fansler.
