MISHAWAKA — Brock Smith led the Pilgrims to their second straight win as Plymouth scored 23 points in the fourth quarter to rally past Mishawaka for a 49-41 victory on the road Saturday.
In just his second game back after being sidelined with a shoulder injury, Smith scored a game-high 16 points, pulled down four rebounds and pilfered three steals after leading Plymouth to a lopsided 44-38 Northern Lakes Conference win over Northridge with nine points Friday.
Plymouth reached the free throw line 13 times in the fourth quarter to come back from a 30-26 third quarter deficit and earn the non-conference win Saturday.
Freshman Mack Mercer continued to mature for the Pilgrims, flirting with a double-double with 13 and nine caroms at Mishawaka.
Mishawaka was led by T.J. Benner’s 13 points.
Plymouth improves to 5-10 and will try to move to an even 3-3 in the competitive NLC as it hosts Goshen at 7:45 p.m. Friday.
