MUNCIE — Ball State junior guard and Plymouth native Randy Davis has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. This is the first MAC weekly honor for Davis this season and the second of his career.
Davis becomes the second BSU men’s basketball player to earn the league’s weekly honor this season, joining classmate Jarrod Jones, who has picked up the award twice.
Davis led the Cardinals to a 2-0 record last week, as BSU picked up league road wins at Eastern Michigan and Toledo. In the two contests, Davis averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 assists and 31 minutes per game.

He was a perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line while adding a .571 (4-for-7) effort from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers. Davis also collected a game-high four steals, handed out a game-best seven assists and came down with four defensive rebounds versus the Rockets.
In last Wednesday’s win at Eastern Michigan, Davis tallied 11 points while dishing out four assists and collecting four defensive rebounds.
