CULVER — Nancy E. Simpson, 85, of Culver, passed away Jan. 2, 2011 at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.
Nancy was born June 9, 1925 in Goshen, one of five children born to Isaac and Lulu (Sparklin) Mummert. After graduating from Goshen High School, she married James Simpson Aug. 15, 1943 in Goshen. Together they raised three children and a foster son.
Nancy really enjoyed gardening and playing bridge with her friends as well as spending time with her grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her son, James (Sandra) Simpson II of Stuart, Fla.; daughters, Susan Simpson of Plymouth, and Sarah Tobias of Culver; foster son, William Binkley of Goshen; grandchildren: Rebecca Salary of Culver, Wes Tobias of West Liberty, Ky., Stephanie Clark of Coral Springs, Fla., Scott Simpson of Sebastian, Fla., Sara Adams of Tennessee, and Stephen Simpson of Stuart, Fla.; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents; a brother; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Madison Tobias.
There will be no services or visitation.
