WINONA LAKE — Edna Joy Miller, 104, of Grace Village Retirement Community Winona Lake and formerly of Mentone died at 12:45 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2013 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 16, 1908 in Marshall County to Orville E. and Nancy H. (Stackhouse) Martin.
On Feb. 17, 1928 in Plymouth, she was married to Joseph A. Miller who preceded June 9, 1989.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Burket United Methodist Church. Joy was active in the Scrambled Egg Band and the Mentone Nutrition Site. She loved gardening and cooking. She always enjoyed her family and was noted for her talent of crocheting and making doilies.
She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Sharon Miller - Akron, Lois Miller - Mentone; four grandchildren, Darrel and wife Pam Miller – Mentone, LuAnn Greene – North Manchester, Doug and wife Lori Miller – Mentone, Deb and husband Jim Glaze – Pierceton; two stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jack and James Miller; brother, Onel Martin; and sister, Frances Koch.
Services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Gary Loy officiating. Burial will be at Mentone Cemetery, Mentone.
Visitation hours are 1-3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at King Memorial Home.
