David Lee Parker
April 16, 1944 - April 14, 2013
LOGANSPORT — David Lee Parker, 68, of Logansport, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, surrounded by his family, at 1:55 a.m. in his residence.
Born April 16, 1944 in Lafayette, he was the son of the late George and Katherine Funk Parker. On July 29, 1968 in Lafayette, David married Stella Meria Martin who survives.
David retired in 1985 as a psychiatric aid for the Logansport State Hospital.
He was a member of the Logansport Church of the Brethren, past Boy Scout Master of Troop #205, he served on the Sagamore Council District Committee, received his Eagle Scout Degree in 1957, served on the Eagle Board of Review for more than 25 years and was currently on the Troop #221 Committee.
Surviving along with his wife are five sons, Danny Lugabihl, Timothy (Courtney) Parker, and Adam Goodman, all of Logansport; Marc E. (Kay) Lugabihl, Kewanna; Albert C. (Patty) Parker, Kingsford Heights; three daughters, LaVonne Bartlett, Crawfordsville; Rebecca D. (Terry) Calhoun, Kendallville; and Ashley (Jesse) Sipin, Logansport; one sister, Peggy (David) Julian, Lafayette; 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Parker Jr., Melvin Parker and wife Joan, daughter, Annette L. Parker, two nieces and one nephew
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in the Logansport Church of the Brethren with Pastor Aaron Gross and Pastor Tom Anders officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Logansport.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in the Gundrum Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday.
