BOURBON — In the latest laurel for Clay Yeo, the Triton senior has been invited to participate in the Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 60 Workout.
Yeo will be among nine players who competed at the 2013 IHSAA State Finals, along with Carmel’s James Crowley and Michael Volovic, Bowman Academy’s Antonio Pipkin, Borden’s Jalen McCoy, Indianapolis Cathedral’s Collin Hartman, Fort Wayne Concordia’s Thomas Starks and Linton’s Dess Fougerousse and Austin Karazsia.
The Top 60 Workout — which is sponsored by Hoosier Basketball Magazine in conjunction with the IHSAA and the IBCA — will take place in two sessions on Sunday, April 7 on the campus of Marian University in Indianapolis.
Boys, primarily from northern and southern Indiana, will participate in the first session from 1 to 3 p.m. EST. The remaining players, primarily from central Indiana, will compete during the second session scheduled from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. ET. Both sessions are open to the public, and admission is $7.
Yeo’s invitation to the annual HBM event is only the latest distinction for the Valparaiso signee, who scored 23 points to help lift the Red Team to a 140-122 win in the McDonald’s Michiana High School All-Star Game Monday at Bethel College’s Wiekamp Center. He closed his career with a game-high 26 points in Triton’s 55-50 loss to Borden in the Class A State Finals last Saturday, a tally which pushed his career total to 1,992 points, leaving him atop Marshall County’s all-time scoring list.
Statistical evaluation, game observation and statewide research were conducted throughout the season and the state tournament to determine Hoosier Basketball Magazine’s Top 60.
Coach Steve Lynch of Mount Vernon-Fortville will direct both sessions. Four other outstanding IBCA coaches have been invited to assist with on court coaching.
