Gertrude Maude Elliott

FORT WAYNE — Gertrude Maude Elliott, 83, of Fort Wayne, formerly of South Bend and Tippecanoe, died March 25, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. at Woodview Health Care, Fort Wayne following a lengthy illness.
She was born July 7, 1929 in Plymouth to Ezra and Cora (Ransbottom) Feece.
She lived in Fort Wayne the last four years coming from South Bend where she and husband, Robert had lived since 1966. Prior to that they lived in Tippecanoe.
On Aug. 20, 1950 in Plymouth, she married Robert Gene Elliott who preceded her Dec. 28, 2007.
She was a homemaker/housewife. Gert was a mother to three boys and after raising them she was a clerk at Tepe’s in South Bend until she retired.
Gert was an active member of The Women’s Progress Club of Tippecanoe and along with her mother-in-law, Lillie and sister-in-law, Barbara Elliott worked hard to make Tippecanoe a better place to live and grow up.
She was a graduate of Plymouth Memorial High School class of 1948.
She is survived by three sons, Mark (Susan) Elliott of Bristol; Paul Elliott of Woodstock, Ill.; David (Linda) Elliott of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren Stacy Elliott, Laura and Joe Godfrey, Travis and Ashley Seibt, Ryan Elliott, Dave and Jillian Moser, Richard and Julie Senn, Matthew and Jessica Elliott; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law – Lexi Feece of Plymouth; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law – William “Jake” and Barbara Elliott of Tippecanoe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and six brothers.
Friends may visit with the family Friday, March 29, 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday March 29, 2013 at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. John Branch of the Cross Church of Rochester.
