The Culver VFW Ladies Auxiliary will serve a St. Patrick’s Day special of corned beef and cabbage with parsley red potatoes, salad, and dessert for $9 Friday, March 15 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The public is welcome.

RENT A SALE SPACE AT THE PARK
Spaces are available for rent at the Culver town park to sell items during the town wide garage sale, April 26 and 27. The price is $10 per space, per day. ‘ONE BOOK, ONE TOWN' MARCH 16
During the month of March, the Culver-Union Township Public Library will celebrate “One Book, One Town,” a county-wide program whose 2013 selection is “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind” by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer. CUTPL will host a book discussion led by Reference/Adult Services Librarian Laura Jones on Saturday, March 16 at 1:30 p.m. in the small meeting room. Additionally, the author, William Kamkwamba, will be speaking at Notre Dame on Monday, March 18 at 7 p.m. The talk will be at the McKenna Center across from the Morris Inn. COMMUNITY MEAL AT GRACE MARCH 15
Grace United Church of Christ will hold its monthly community meal on Friday, March 15 at 6 p.m. All are invited to this free, ecu menical event whose purpose is to share a friendly meal in a welcoming, community atmosphere. The meals are held on the 15th day of each month in the basement of the church.
EASTER EGG HUNT MARCH 23
Culver’s annual Easter Egg hunt will take place Saturday, March 23, starting at 10 a.m. at the Culver town park, for ages 2 through 4th grade. The Easter Bunny will be here so bring your camera! The event is sponsored by the Culver park and recreation department.
SIREN TESTS MARCH 27
Indiana’s 2013 Severe Weather Preparedness Week will take place March 24 through 30, according to Clyde Avery, Marshall County Emergency Management Agency director. A state-wide siren test will be conducted Wednesday, March 27 (weather permitting), with one test between 10 and 10:30 a.m. and the second test between 7:30 and 8 p.m. The backup drill day will be Thursday, March 28.
COMMUNITY MEAL AT ST. MARY'S APRIL 1
The March community meal at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church on College Ave. will be held Monday, April 1 at 6 p.m. rather than its usual date of the 30th. March 30th falls on Holy Saturday this year, so the church will observe the holy day that evening. The April community meal will be held Tuesday, April 30 as usual.
SIDEWALK SHARING PROGRAM APPS
Applications for the 2013 Sidewalk Program will be available beginning at 8 a.m., Monday, April 1 at Town Hall.
Completed applications for the program will be reviewed in the order they are received. You will need the measurements for sidewalk, curb or combination you are replacing in order to complete the application.
If approved, sidewalks will be reimbursed at $2.75 per square foot, curbing at $14 per lineal foot, and curb/sidewalk combination at $26 per lineal foot.
TOWN OF CULVER HIRING SEASONAL WORKERS
The Town of Culver is accepting applications for seasonal street department workers. Applicants must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license. The work will entail working outside in all weather conditions: driving, lifting, trench work and other duties as may be determined by the supervisor. The pay will range from $8 to $10 hourly, based on experience. Applications may be picked up at Town Hall, 200 E Washington St., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. M-F. Completed applications must be received by 4 p.m. April 5, 2013.
ENDANGERED HERITAGE EXHIBIT AT MUSEUM
The Center for Culver History will host “Endangered Heritage,” a traveling exhibit of the Indiana Historical Society which seeks to educate local communities and funders about the need for good collections stewardship and gives examples of the dangers to objects in collections and information about the collections care needs of Indiana’s organizations. The Center for Culver History will be displaying some of its own early historic records and photographs with the exhibit. WARNER WILLIAMS EXHIBIT AT MUSEUM
Ongoing at The Center for Culver History is a display of the art of Culver Academies 20-year artist-in-residence and Culver resident Werner Williams. TROOP INAUGURAL EXHIBIT AT MUSEUM
