Robert ‘Bob’ Leon Stone

ARGOS — Robert “Bob” Leon Stone, 67, formerly of Argos, died Feb. 23, 2013 at 1 a.m. at Life Care Center, Rochester following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 21, 1945 in Stockbridge, Mich. to Prock and Grace (Salyer) Stone. He lived most of his life in the Argos community.
On Nov. 25, 1965 in Bremen, he married the love of his life, Rita Ann Jamison; she preceded Aug. 23, 2005.
Bob was a commercial truck driver for nearly 40 years, having logged over a million miles without having an accident. He drove for Bremen Glass, Bremen, and Celedon, Indianapolis.
He also owned RLS Motors in Argos for five years; and owned Laura Ellen’s family restaurant in Argos for four years.
He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Rochester; a former Argos Town Councilman and president from 1990 – 1994; and he had coached all of his children in the Argos Youth Baseball and Softball leagues.
He was a graduate of Argos High School class of 1963.
He is survived by a daughter – Laura Johnson of Argos; sons – Robert “Tony” A. Stone and wife Destiny of Lafayette; Joseph P. Stone and wife Amy of Argos; and Andrew L. Stone and wife Amee of Argos; grandchildren – Kelsie and Cody Hollabaugh and Daniel Johnson; Joseph, Alexander, Vincent, Alaura, and Gabriel Stone; Samantha, Jonathan, and Jacob Stone; brothers – Landa Stone of Bremen; Larry Stone and wife Ethel of Argos; Albert Stone; Herbert Stone; Ernie Stone and wife Celeste all of Jackson, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and two sisters.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2013 at the funeral home, with Rev. Ron Hensley and Rev. Lloyd Howard officiating.
Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
