R. ‘Doug’ Hollan

TALMA — R. “Doug” Hollan, age 61, of Talma (Rochester), passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at 10:51 p.m. in Woodlawn Hospital of Rochester.
Doug was born the son of Edward Hollan Jr. and Elvira Large Hollan on May 27, 1951 at Dayton, Ohio. He was a resident of Talma since 1978. He was a hard worker working at trailer factories and Tippecanoe Foundry. Other interests include his workmanship with old cars and hot rod building. He was a member of the Rebel Rouser’s Car Club and was a people person who never met a stranger.
On Feb. 22, 1969 he married Vergie Howard who survives along with sons, Douglas Edward Hollan and wife Vanessa of Rochester, Allen Wade Hollan of Rochester; grandsons, Shelby Douglas Dean Hollan, Justin Mullins; sisters, Bonnie and Paul Combs of Jackson, Ky., Barbara Fugate of Bremen, Christine and Al Turner of Watts burg, Pa., Dolly Hollan of Winchester, Ky.; brothers, Charles and Connie Hollan of Jackson, Ky., Edward Hollan of Bremen, John and Vickie Hollan of Jackson, Ky., Bryce Hollan of Winchester, Ky., Ernest Paul and Jackie Hollan of Leslie, Ky., Scott and Amy Hollan of Jackson, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Lee Hollan.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
Funeral services immediately will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Bourbon.
