PLYMOUTH — Miss out on your prom? Or was it a night to forget?
Maybe you had so much fun you’d want to do it again.
Either way the Plymouth Eagles is offering its “2nd Chance Prom” March 2.
The event will take place at the Eagles, 404 W. Laporte St., Plymouth.
This is the second such prom held by the Eagles.
Hollie Wenzel, Vice President of the Eagle’s Ladies Auxiliary, said last year’s was a resounding success.
Proceeds from the event will go to Rupert’s Kids. The charity was started by “Survivor” contestant and former Indiana gubernatorial candidate Rupert Boneham.
Boneham’s charity is geared toward his life’s work of helping troubled teens.
Boneham will also be on hand at the March 2 prom.
Beforehand, starting at 6 p.m., he’ll be at Night and Day Cafe.
While at Night and Day, Boneham will sign autographs and do a meet-and-greet.
Night and Day Cafe and owner Lisa Van Vactor are offering a a dinner for two for $30 with a choice of shrimp, chicken or prime rib at the prom.
The prom is scheduled to start and 9 p.m. and run to 3 a.m.
The event is open to the public for those 21 or older.
A DJ will be on hand spinning a variety of music.
Last year’s theme was “Frost Yourself”.
This year, it’s “Plymouth Goes Hollywood.”
Those attending are encouraged to dress like a character from their favorite movie, a favorite actor or actress or simply in formal wear.
Last year’s prom netted $3,500 for Riley’s Ambulance fund.
Pearly B Photography’s Brandy Clevenger-Yeazel and Linda Clevenger have donated their time to take photos. Photos can purchased. Eagles members get a free 5 x 7.
Tickets bought in advance of the prom are $15 a person or $25 a couple.
They can be purchased at The Eagles or at Night and Day Cafe.
The cost is $20 a person or $35 a couple the night of the event.
Each ticket comes with a free drink and Hor D’oeuvres.
Wenzel, Eagles Trustee Stephanie Thomas, Trustee Rennee Warren, Secretary Dawna Embree, Lynne Zeiger and VanVactor have worked hard to put on this event.
Wenzel and Thomas said this will be a yearly event at The Eagles.
And each year another charity will benefit.
