MISHAWAKA — Former Argos standout and current San Diego Padres pitcher Eric Stults will be returning to the area Saturday.
Stults will be joined by fellow Bethel alum Justin Masterson of the Cleveland Indians for a baseball clinic from 9 a.m. until noon as the Bethel College Athletic Department and Science Department host a “Stand Up to Cancer” Day on the college’s Mishawaka campus.
A moment of silence will be held before the basketball game 3 p.m. basketball game featuring the No. 21 Pilots and No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan as each fan, player, coach and official will have an opportunity to hold up a sign stating who they are standing up to cancer for, and at halftime Stults and Masterson will share how their lives have been directly affected by cancer.
The Bethel College Science Department, who has actively been doing research this past semester, will also share its findings on the deadly disease and the progress being made to put an end to cancer.
