PLYMOUTH — This year, St. Michael Catholic School in Plymouth will again host “A Night in Italy” fundraising dinner.
“All proceeds (from the event) go to the school’s annual fund, which in the past has been used for items like the Olweus Bullying Program,” said Ryan Jessen, member of the school board.”The annual fund provides a way to bridge the gap between the tuition and the actual costs of education the children enrolled at Saint Michael.”
The menu includes anitpasto, salad, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, italian sausage, artisan bread, gelato, and Italian pastries, prepared by Oh Mamma’s Italian Deli in South Bend.
In addition to dinner, the event includes an auction, cash bar, and activities for children. Auction items include an all-expense paid vacation, a Manti Te’o autographed football, and Notre Dame hockey tickets.
“This event is open to the whole Plymouth area community,” said Jessen, “We strive to hold a fun family event that includes an authentic Italian menu, silent and live auctions, and various craft activities for the children. The…purpose of a ‘Night in Italy’ is to bring the community together in support of Saint Michael Catholic School.”
The event is put together by the Saint Michael School Advisory Board Annual Fund Drive Committee. Tickets are $15 for adults, $6 for students, and ages 4 and younger are free. Tickets are sold in advance at the school office, or contact Lynndi Rader at 574-952-3606. They are also available at the door. The event is held in the school gymnasium.
