BOURBON — Joan A. (Porman) Hunter, 76, of Bourbon, (formerly of the North Webster area) passed away at 9:20 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at her home. She was born Feb. 10, 1936 in Plymouth to Chester and Irene (Davis) Porman.
She grew up in Bourbon and graduated in 1955 from Bourbon High School, where she was in the Rainbow Girls and played in the band. She lived most of her life in the Bourbon and North Webster areas. She was married Nov. 6, 1959 in Rochester, to Frederick L. “Fred” Hunter who survives. She was a homemaker, former waitress at the M & M Restaurant in North Webster, and worked in several local factories. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ very much and will be missed very much by her husband and family. She was a member of the New Vision Church in Warsaw where she was a Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by: Husband – Fred Hunter of Bourbon; four sons – Rocky Lane (wife, Danette) Hunter of Warsaw; Shad Lynn (wife, Crystal) of Columbia City; Tag Leroy (companion, Carla Kelley) Hunter of Leesburg and Lofty Lee (companion, Karen Kokovay) Hunter of New Paris; 13 grand and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at Owen Family Funeral Home, S.R. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Richard Campbell of the church officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bourbon.
