BOURBON — Triton's football team darn near matched South Central yard for yard Friday.
Point for point, though, posed a more daunting challenge.
Although South Central accumulated just 35 more total yards than Triton — 375-340 — the Trojans' season-long nemesis struck particularly hard.
Beset by three first-half turnovers in Satellites turf, including Ricky Rigsby's 78-yard interception return for a South Central touchdown, the host Trojans ended their season with a 47-20 loss in Class A Sectional 33 second-round play.
"Unfortunately, that kind of sums up our season," Triton head coach Rodney Younis said. "We've had a lot of turnovers. You can't win games when you're turning the ball over."
