EVERGREEN, Colo. — Richard (Dick) Louis Stoneburner, 64, of Evergreen, Colo. died peacefully at his home Dec. 13, 2012 after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Plymouth on March 28, 1948 to Daisy (Snyder) and the late Cecil Stoneburner. He is survived by Lana (Snobarger), his loving wife of 41 years; children, Tara (Brian) Roberts of Littleton, Colo. and Zachary Stoneburner of Breckenridge, Colo.; grandson, Shawn Stoneburner and newborn grandson, Richard Louis Roberts. Dick is also survived by his sister, Anita Condon of Bourbon.
Dick graduated from Triton High School, Bourbon, and sang in a group that took first place at the Indiana State Fair. He received his B.S. from Purdue University and an M.A. from Mankato State. He coached basketball and football at the high school level and spent two years as an assistant football coach at the college level.
He won multiple national and regional sales awards for his sales performances in pharmaceutical sales and went on to become President and CEO of several national and international companies. Successful sales numbers followed him in every new opportunity he undertook.
Throughout his cancer treatments Dick snow shoed, played softball, skied black diamonds, hiked, biked the mountains of Colorado (which he loved) and continued working. He also loved music and football, but more than anything he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. MST until the time of the services at 1 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 18, 2012 at the Foothills Chapel, 1950 Ford St., Golden, CO 80401 and he will be laid to rest immediately following at Golden Cemetery.
