
WAKARUSA —For those interested n continuing their high school education, the Wa-Nee Community Schools and Wakarusa Public Library have joined to offer the opportunity. Together they will be sponsoring a GED preparation classes this fall.
Classes will be begin Monday, Sept. 24 and continue every Monday evening until Nov. 26. Meeting time is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Register or receive additional information by calling the library at 574-862-2465.
The class will be taught by a retired teacher and will cover every aspect of the GED test. A pre-test and post-test will be given to help assess each student’s progress. There is a $25 cost for the class which includes the required book.
The library’s databases include topics for every interest; information about the United States on America the Beautiful; early reading books on Tumblebooks; genealogy on Heritage Quest; research on INSPIRE; and audio books on Audiobook Cloud. Sign up for Story Hour (ages 3-5) and Toddler Time (ages 25-36 months accompanied by a parent or caregiver) will begin on Monday, Aug. 20. Call the library at 862-2465 to sign up.
Adults participating in the Summer Reading program are reminded that the program will end Saturday, Aug. 18.
