Low-cost rabies clinic Saturday

September 19, 2014

MARSHALL COUNTY — The Bourbon Veterinary Clinic has teamed up with the Marshall County Humane Society for a rabies clinic Saturday Sept. 20.

"The reason there hasn't been a rabies epidemic is because rabies vaccines are required by Indiana state law," said Marshall County Humane Society Director Nancy Cox. "This clinic is not designed to replace regular veterinary care; it is for people that need a little help getting their pet up to date on their shots."

Argos council turns down military Humvee

September 19, 2014

ARGOS — A request from Argos Police Chief Rodney Rudd to apply for a Humvee from the US military was turned down by a one-vote margin Wednesday night.

Rudd noted that the vehicle would not need to be painted police colors making it a “squad vehicle,” but that it could be a neutral color and therefore used by all town departments.

Opposition by two town residents present caused a heated discussion to ensue.

Refinancing of the jail bonds delayed

September 19, 2014

MARSHALL COUNTY — The 2006 jail bond refinancing hit a snag when the Preliminary Official Statement (POS) failed to be distributed on time.
That snag held up the agenda during the Marshall County Holding Company’s Board of Directors meeting on Monday morning. The board had anticipated ratifying the sale of the bonds but was unable to do so because the POS hadn’t been distributed.

According to County Attorney James Clevenger the POS is expected to be distributed yet this week.
