Time change this weekend

MARSHALL COUNTY — If proof is needed that spring is on its way, Daylight Savings Time goes into effect Sunday, March 9 when clocks are pushed ahead one hour.

The change occurs at 2 a.m. Sunday, which means time will move 60 minutes to 3 a.m.

Grants available for enhanced curriculum

PLYMOUTH — Marshall County schools are eligible to receive grant money to implement a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math based curriculum in their schools for the 2014-2015 school year. A five-county region, including Marshall, successfully raised funding commitments to ensure the grants, as was announced Saturday.

Wind chill warning remains in place; winter storm expected this weekend

February 28, 2014

MARSHALL COUNTY — The National Weather Service has kept the wind chill warning issued yesterday in place until 11 a.m. this morning. Bitterly cold conditions continue, followed by snow accumulations later this weekend.

High pressure centered over Michigan overnight has allowed temperatures to fall below zero over much of the area with calm winds. As the high moves east this morning, winds will gradually increase, causing wind chills to fall to around 10 degrees below zero. With the expected temperature rise, the wind chill advisory is not expected to continue.
