VFW receives liquor license renewal, with restriction

MARSHALL COUNTY - Efforts by the BREMEN VFW means business as usual for the club.

At May’s meeting of the Marshall County Alcoholic Beverage Commission the VFW liquor license was up for renewal. In the process of that renewal the club itself brought up a violation from Feb. 25 that the Board was not aware of and asked the steps that needed to be taken to bring the business into compliance.

Triton revising athletic discipline policy

BOURBON – A rare insight into the workings of a school board was offered Tuesday morning as the Triton School Board met in a public work session.

At issue was a revision of the Athletic Handbook proposed by Athletic Director Mason McIntyre. It was clear that McIntyre and the board members agreed that the current handbook is too vague with regard to punishment steps when student athletic policy is violated.

Red Cross leaving Plymouth to relocate in Argos

ARGOS — Marshall County Red Cross is looking for a new home and representative Carol Arnett proposed using available space in Argos at the town council meeting Wednesday.

Arnett informed the board she recieved a phone call the past Friday from her superior in which she was informed the Red Cross Chapter House on Garro St. in Plymouth will be shut down. The Red Cross Marshall/Fulton Chapter has to vacate the house by July 21.

•Tyler Lee Yeazel, 22 of Etna Green was arrested by Plymouth Police at 2 p.m. on June 4 for pointing a firearm, criminal mischief, carrying a handgun without a license.
•Emily Jeanne Dutcher, 20 of Bourbon was arrested by Plymouth Police at 4:50 p.m. on June 4 for resisting law enforcement, operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license.
•Matthew Veraig O'Brien, 21, of Plymouth was arrested by Plymouth Police at 6 p.m. on June 4 for failure to appear.

•Jerry Lee Wilson Jr., 60 of Logansport was arrested by the Indiana State Police at 7:30 a.m. on June 3 for driving while suspended.
•Seth Andrew Krozel Jr., 20, of Plymouth was arrested by Plymouth Police at 3:35 p.m. on June 3 for a probation violation.
•Brian Keith Cochran, 47, of Bremen was arrested by Bremen Police at 10:40 p.m. on June 3 for failure to register as a sex offender.

•Shane Ryan Bolinger, 25, of Mishawaka was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 5:40 p.m. on June 1 for operating a vehicle with a schedule I or II controlled substance, operating while intoxicated endangering a person.
•Vincent Eugene Cole, 47, or Fort Wayne was arrested by Bourbon Police at 7 p.m. on June 1 for operating a vehicle after being adjudged an habitual traffic offender.
•Samuel Lee Coleman Jr., 61, was arrested by Culver Police at 7:20 p.m. on June 1 for operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person.

•Stephanie Jo Risher-Valdez, 37, of Plymouth was arrested by Plymouth Police at 1:25 p.m. on May 30 for possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
•Charles Derick Sanders, 24 or Bremen was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 7:30 p.m. on May 30 for failure to appear.

•Jose Danilo Arita, 33 of Warsaw was arrested by Bremen Police at 4:08 p.m. on May 29 for operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license.
•Albert DeShawn Jones, 30 of South Bend was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 7:32 p.m. for failure to appear.
•Michael Richard Foster, 40 of Plymouth was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 11:45 p.m. on May 29 for domestic battery with a prior conviction.

•Marco Tulio Padilla Lopez, 31 of Plymouth was arrested by Indiana State Police at 4:35 on May 24 for operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license, refusal to identify, identity deception, possible display of a fictitious suspended or altered drivers license use of false information on application for an ID card.
•Dereck Michael Pinkowski, 21 of Plymouth was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff's Department for a probation violation.

Purchase of Whitley plant confirmed

May 24, 2013

PLYMOUTH - The area got some positive economic news on Friday with the sale of Whitley Products to a Michigan based company - Aggressive Manufacturing Innovations or AMI.

"I can confirm that (AMI) has purchased the company and all of its remaining assets," said Kevin Smith a representative of AMI. "They just completed the sale and they are planning to re-open the Plymouth plant."

Smith said that he expected the company to be "operational to some degree" as early as next week but also said it would take some time before the company could become fully operational.
