State urges resident to be aware of weather-related dangers

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is reminding Hoosiers to be aware of the possibility for strong storms this evening followed by flooding in some areas.

The National Weather Service predicts the storms could contain damaging winds, lightning and periods of moderate to heavy rain. The combination of melting snow, rain, and a deeply frozen ground may cause flooding beginning tonight.

Marshall County under flood warning

MARSHALL COUNTY — A flood warning has been issued for Marshall County. The warning is in effect until 8:30 a.m. Friday. A high wind advisory is also in place.

Court imposes sentences on two meth cases

MARSHALL COUNTY — Local agencies are taking steps to minimize the flooding potential caused by massive snow melts and rains forecast for tomorrow.

Emergency Management director Clyde Avery just issued the following alert:

Triton, Plymouth, Argos, John Glenn schools are closed

PLYMOUTH/BOURBON — The Superintendents just made the call. Triton and Plymouth Schools are closed today. In his message Plymouth Superintendent cited the drifting snow conditions as the reason for the closure. Argos is also closed, as is John Glenn.

Bremen, Culver, LaVille still indicate a two-hour delay as of 7:45 a.m.

Weather warning expires; Watch level travel advisory continues

MARSHALL COUNTY — The county remains under a "Watch" level travel advisory Tuesday, which means that travel on roadways is discouraged and should be limited to essential purposes only, such as to and from work. The advisory indicates that road conditions may be dangerous and caution is advised.

School districts call for two-hour delay

Knox
Oregon Davis
Plymouth

Union North (LaVille).
