All we need Part 2 - The Hess'

The Hess’:
Dave and Diana Hess were married in 1974, six months after their first date. The couple began running her parents’ (Ruth and Ollie Larimer) furniture business in October of 1981. Together the couple has officially owned the furniture store Larimer Furniture (and Mattress) at 113 W. Waterford in Wakarusa for 20 years.
“We had known each other before,” Diana explained. “We both went to Goshen High School but didn’t hang out with the same people.”
She said when they bumped into each other again at a night club years later — “the rest was history.”

WAKARUSA — Love is a many-splendored thing and it is even more rewarding when the relationship lasts for decades. When the marriage lasts through a family-run business, working side by side every day and still being able to enjoy one another’s company, it is something truly special.

Woodview students help hospital help students

NAPPANEE — St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s daily operational costs to help extend children’s lives is $1.7 million and that cost is covered primarily by public donations. Woodview Elementary School Counselor Nicki Wiggins said St. Jude’s initiative inspired her to try to get the school involved because it a charity that was all about “kids helping kids.”

Warsaw man arrested for indecent exposure

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested by Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies for reportedly exposing himself to Amish school children. 
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified Saturday of an indecent exposure incident that had occurred last Friday, Jan. 27 outside an Amish school southeast of Nappanee in Kosciusko County. 
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Detectives continued the investigation into this week, and were able to obtain a license plate number that led them to Darrin Ray Gibbs, 46, 2441 West, County Road 250 South,Warsaw. 

NWHS Scholastic Art winners

The NorthWood High School art department announced it had five students that placed in the 2012 NW Indiana & Lower Southwest Michigan Region of The Alliance for Young Writers and Artists.
Regional judging took place Saturday, Jan. 21 at the South Bend Museum of Art and jurors judging the student art work based their selections on technical proficiency, originality and emergence of a personal style or vision.
