Zailey Hess wins age group as Jana’s Gymnastics competes at Indiana USAG state meet

MADISON — Jana’s Gymnastics competed in the Indiana USA Gymnastics State Meet at Madison High School over the weekend and came home with some impressive places. 
Zailey Hess won the All-Around championship in her age group for Jana’s Bronze Team, which earned narrowly missed a team championship by less than half a point to finish runner-up at the meet, while Jana’s Silver Team earned a fifth-place finish in its division.
Besides Hess’ championship in the Child Division, Jana’s Silver team had a third-place finisher in the age group, while another Bronze team gymnast placed second in the Junior group.
In addition to those top-three finishes in the All-Around competition, several of Jana’s girls won first place in separate events in their age groups.
Kennedy Lauck won the Floor competition with a score of 9.5, while Ellie Dishon was first on Bars with a score of 9.4.  Caitlin Kulpa won first place on Beam with a score of 9.575, while Katie Lauck won first place on Beam with a score of 9.35, and  Hess won the Floor exercise with a score of 9.5.
In the Silver Division, Karly Gruett won first on Floor with a very impressive score of 9.7.
