Young Rockies developing as Plymouth hosts Wawasee

September 22, 2010

PLYMOUTH — Losing their two main offensive weapons on nearly back to back plays didn’t seem to faze Plymouth’s Rockies in taking a win a week ago over Elkhart Memorial.
After some initial shock losing Brock Smith and Houston Hodges to injury, the Rockies regrouped behind sophomore quarterback Ike Kastner and running back Sam Stevens.
“It makes our staff feel like we’ve done the right thing so far as depth and developing players,” said head coach John Barron. “We want to treat kids fairly and really coach them the way we’d want our kids to be coached. You wonder what will happen when you lose players that way but you hope you will just be able to just play next man up.”
