Yeo receives 2nd IBCA/ Pacers-Fever Player of the Week nomination
BOURBON — Triton junior forward Clay Yeo was honored with his second IBCA/ Pacers-Fever Player of the Week nod for his performance at the Class A Triton Regional Saturday.
Yeo, a 6-6 wing player who is committed to Valparaiso University, captured District 1 honors after averaging 30.5 points in two games and becoming the all-time leading scorer at Triton (20-6).
Yeo opened with 27 points and seven rebounds in a 58-45 win over Kouts in the Triton Regional. He followed with 34 points and six steals in a 64-60 double-overtime setback to Fort Wayne Canterbury. Yeo finished his day with a Triton-record 1,337 career points, 10 better than 2011 graduate Griffyn Carpenter. He was previously named the Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 12-17.
Also honored with IBCA/ Pacers-Fever Player of the Week nominations were Rockville junior Lane Mahurin, Loogootee senior Bryant Ackerman and Evansville Bosse senior Jalen Pendleton.
This is the fourth season for the Pacers-Fever Players of the Week program coordinated through the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association. Winners are chosen each week from each of the IHSAA’s three districts.
