Yellow River Festival schedule of events announced

The annual Yellow River Festival in Plymouth is this Saturday, June 2.

2012 Yellow River Festival Entertainment & Education Schedule 

10:00 a.m. Welcome - Teressa Welborn; Invocation - Rev. Dr. Ron Liechty; Mayoral Proclamation - Mayor Mark Senter
10:15 a.m. Mark & Liza Woolever. This folk music set will include "The Yellow River Song" featuring the song's writer, George Schricker.
11:00 a.m. Johnny Appleseed (as performed by Steve McPhail) - sponsored by Del Monte Foods
11:20 a.m. Yesterday's News (folk music by Brent Martin)
11:40 a.m. Dr. Tom Buchanan (Professor of History at Ancilla College discussing 1800s medicine.
12:00 p.m. Pay the Piper (Irish music by Lance & Pam Hoffer, Nelson Shrock)
12:50 p.m. Jill Van Lew (1800s music)
1:15  p.m. Shakin’ Hammers (string band featuring Lane & Jenny Laffoon)
2:00 p.m. Rich Patterson & Larry Balmer -- a discussion on old-time toys & how to teach children to fish
2:15 p.m. Randy Jones & students. Jones is a guitar instructor at Wagoner's Music Shop.
2:45 p.m. Open Mic
3:30 p.m. Tie Hackers String Band (Todd Wolford, Stephen Greer, Michael Schwab, Robert E. Lee Schafer, Valerie Jean Schafer)
4:15 p.m. Liars Bench — Mayor Senter, Brent Martin, Marianne Peters, and Dr. Thomas Buchanan.
5:00 p.m. Wild Rose Moon (folk and Americana music featuring Gene Ley, Jim Yocum, and George Schricker.
